Hang wall units on a wall which is not straight

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.54 PM

I have a wall which is not straight, a dip of about 4mm across a gap of 2.5m. I need to hang some kitchen wall units. I plan to use a single board across the back of all units, screw this into the wall first (pack in the gaps) and then hang the units off the board. What would be the best type of board / wood to use for longevity? Also, any other suggestions on how to hang on a wall which is not straight are welcome.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

There is no need for the board the brackets on wall units have more than enough play for your wall

Yes no need for a board. When you fit the wall unit brackets to the wall you will have a fair amount of play. 4mm or a span of 2.5m is not that bad. I have had much worse and got over it. Hope this helps.

All of the cabinet hangers available today will have more than enough adjustment to cope with 4mm of variation on your walls.

As everyone has said the brackets have two screws to adjust for height and depth. Should your dip be to much you can pack behind the hanger part of the bracket with some small squares of 4cm ply. Had to do this when hanging over missing tile in a "to let"
