Fitted new shower hose but thermastic shower now cutting out

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.37 PM

Hi Can anyone help please? Our shower hose split and so bought a new hose with a 10mm bore hole. I measured the bore as 12mm but screwfix guy said it was 10mm. It's an Aqualisa shower. Attached the new hose but the shower is now cutting out after just about 15 secs and the boost button keeps flashing plus there is now very little heat. Is this all due to the wrong bore size? Any suggestions much appreciated.

Hi doubt very much its anything to do with the new hose. Just a coincidence I think , I would say that the problem is with the shower itself

Call aqulisa for the part number of the shower and exchange like for like. As you've experienced issues may either ruin product or void any future Warranty. Good luck Pd

A thermostatic shower works on regulating the incoming cold and hot water, so maybe the thermostat needs replacing. But It seems you are describing an electric shower that has a booster setting surging the cold water into the electric thermostat, reducing the output and having a temporary drop in temperature. If you have a hot water tank instead of a combination boiler ( instant hot water) and a pump, then the problem may lie with the pump.
