Non Standard Construction walls - making them comply with standard construction regulations

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.36 PM

Hi We are looking at buying a bungalow but are told the front is "Non Standard Construction" but owners know nothing else. This is approx 10 m. What is procedures involved in bringing this up to standard please? TIA

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Without knowing what the structure is it is difficult to give a proper answer. I would imagine it would mean making the frontage more structurally sound or involve a false insulated wall

A non standard construction can be anything that isnt brick or block basicaly. To make it standard construction it would have to be brick block or stone with a standard tiled roof. For example a brick house with a flat roof is non standard or glass fronted house ect

It's hard to know without looking at the construction

I'm guessing its a timber frame front, Which would mean concrete footings and a 100mm brick wall with insulated cavity and tied in to timber stucture to bring it up to standard.
