Footings for raised Drive way

Anonymous user 16/03/2024 - 2.37 PM

I'm building a raised driveway in front garden of house the dimensions will roughly 6m long and 6m wide at a height of 1m. How deep should the footings be? and will i need a hardcore sub-base for the footing?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

You need to excavate down to firm ground not soft or back filled ground that will decide your depth .Use a strip foundation at least 600mmx225 deep .Build your wall with a landrain behind and weepholes into the wall.

I'd suggest using gabions for the retaining walls and fill in with clean hardcore. Pave or concrete leaving drainage space. Add fence or similar on sides with a drop.
