Help to install a strike plate in existing empty plate area in doorframe
Anonymous user 16/03/2024 - 2.37 PM
Hi guys I have a door frame which at one point had a strike plate in (way before I moved in) and it means the door cannot shut. I want to know how easy it will be to fix... Can I just buy a new strike plate and put it in the place?
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

If you have to ask the question , you obviously do not have the knowledge or skill, so easier in the long run to employ a expert, to do a very basic job like this, pictures would help, but more than likely a site visit will be required to ascertain, materials needed.

Hi while yes a site visit in my experience is necessary you as the customer are entitled to be addressed with respect and in a manner becoming a human being and not a dog
Personally I would visit the job and respectfully advise the homeowner of either what they can do to remedy the situation or what I can do to fix or replace said strike plate
