Dimmer switch stuck in the ON position

Anonymous user 16/03/2024 - 2.36 PM

Hello. I have a dimmer switch that the knob kept coming off and was starting to become difficult to switch on/off. I decided to try superglue the knob on. Unfortunately this has meant the switch is now stuck on the ON position. I have removed the 5 lightbulbs. The switch will need replacing. Will it be costing me to leave the switch in the ON position with the lightbulbs removed? Thanks

Oh dear, a quick lesson in why not to use super glue on electrical components. Don't worry, you just need a replacement switch, and no you won't be costing yourself a fortune in "running electricity", without the bulbs no electricity is being used.

No, the circuit will be broken by the lack of connections through the bulbs.
