Had work done on roof and conservatory and not satisfied as still leaking.

Hi all first time here. Sorry for long post.I recently had some work done. I live in semi detached house and have a chimney on the front and rear of house shared with my neighbour. A roofer came to look and I was quoted £700 cash to repoint myside of both chimneys and to cap and vent my 4 chimney pots off(2 on front and 2 on back), Sort out my flashing on my conservatory as it was leaking and to fit a cover flashing in the wall on my flat roof. I thought it was a good price and they went ahead with the work last week. The chimney work looks good but obviously I can't see it properly from the floor but the conservatory they have only used flashband and the flat roof they have just sealed. They told me they couldn't fit a flashing cover in the wall on the flat roof as the felt on the flat roof curves up so it would pull it out and would not last so best solution was just to sealer along the top and on the conservatory he told me all you could really do was to flashband it, as the wall is rendered with a pebble dash and it should last 15 years plus. I trusted what they told me but now I'm not sure as the conservatory roof is still leaking. I'm going to phone the roofer to ask to put it right but before I do I would just like some help and more information so they can't pull the wool over my eyes so to speak is there any better way of doing work rather than flashband on conservatory and just sealing flat roof along the top.what should I be asking for?cheers for any help.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

the wall needs to have a lead cover flashing fitted. if the wall curves then all this means is that you need a bigger lip on the lead that sits in the wall. the lead should then be sealed with a weatherproof mastic like leadmate.

Firstly flashband is only used for a temporary fix, secondly flashband does not stick to pebbledash, what they should of done is cut away 150mm of render above conservatory roof all the way along the length of sheets, fitted lead flashings,225mm would be adequate 100mm upstand fit render bead and render and stone render to match in pebbledash, the rest of the flashing is dressed over conservatory roof sheets,as for flat roof fit adequate lead flashings and apply leadmate into joints

It sounds like they dont know what there doing just by using flash-band says it all about them really I would get another roofer in to go over there work with out seeing what they have done we can’t comment but my advice is get another roofer round to check there work you will then know what has or hasn’t been done
