Hot bath but cold shower after adjusting the anti scale valve

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.16 PM

When we moved into our new build we couldn’t get the bath water hot enough to have a hot bath, we adjusted the anti-scald valve under the bath and now can have very hot baths. But since then the shower which has its own tap, only runs freezing cold. What do we do so both the bath and the shower run hot?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Recently moved to new build? Surely not your problem contact the builder or representative as you should be covered by some sort of guarantee/warranty Don’t mess further otherwise you could invalidate these

The thermostatic mixer valve supplying the bath would normally be completely separate from your shower If they are supplying separate outlets. Assuming you have Only just turned the thermostatic mixer valve head and nothing else not shut off any isolation valves ect then the issues will not be linked rather coincidental. Firstly check the shower is installed correctly with the hot water supply on the left ( feel the pipes into the shower ) there are also filters within the shower that may block on rare occasion finally the thermostat inside the shower may be faulty.
