Cold tap in bathroom sink leaking.

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.15 PM

Cold tap in bathroom sink is leaking. Can I get this fixed without buying new taps? Also I've been told to fit an isolation valve to both bath taps? Do I realy need this as I can turn the water of in the kitchen.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Reference your tap, it would depend on where exactly the leak is coming from. It could be a ceramic valve/washer,or a connector into the tap from the flexi hose if fitted with that type of connection. I would definitely recommend getting the bath hot and cold isolation valves fitted, or you may have to drain the hot if there is no other isolation between that point and your tank. Likewise with the cold. The water stop cock in your kitchen will be main incoming feed supplying your tank and not the cold to your bath.

Yes you can fix this by changing the tap insert Also you don’t need isolation valves but I would recommend having them put in
