Can neighbour nail fence on my property wall

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.33 PM

Hi I live in 1920 property where at back of property the divide line between the 2 houses is not straight meaning my property wall goes 30 cm under neighbour bottom room roof. Previously fence post was nailed between 2 properties, but now neighbour has put fence post nailed on my property wall (however the part of wall is still under the neighbour room roof at back). Is neighbour allowed to do this ? Is this shared wall or who does the wall belongs to ? I can post pictures to give better idea.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Consult your deeds. The land registry have an interactive map with all the property boundaries for whole country.

If it’s not in your way and does not affect you in any way why would you want to fall out with your neighbours, life to short to fall out over a fences panel

They would require permission from you to do so as it’s your property. The same as if it was your fence they should ask permission before painting or attaching anything to it. You can only do what you like if you own it no one has the right to do anything to someone else’s property.
