The water from the hot taps is boiling hot

I can't put my hands under the hot tap, is there some way of cooling it down

Hello. I understand your concern. For safety sake it would be wise to contact a suitable professional service engineer to look at your boiler / plumbing. Observe what they do to rectify the over heating for your future reference. It may be just a turn of a knob or more serious a faulty part that needs a replacement. Good luck, Bob.

first determine where your hot water comes from ?, do you have a hot water cylinder or a combi boiler ?, if from a hot water cylinder you should find a cylinder thermostat on the side of cylinder, turn it down ,if it is a direct cylinder heated by an immersion heater check thermostat in immersion heater, if it will not turn down replace it, if it is a combi boiler turn it down on boiler, if it will not turn down get a heating engineer to look at it.
