Joining Rubber to Felt

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.33 PM

I have been told by a roofer that joining a new EPDM roof covering to next door's felt covering will not work, as he has experienced many problems with leakage no matter what joining solution he uses. Should we choose felt rather than EPDM?

I agree rubber and felt Dont mix can be hard to join. I would go with felt every day of the week no problems get it done and forget about it. Nige.

EPDM won’t bond well enough to felt. Your best option is liquid based system - GRP Res-Tec, Res-Tec can overlay and bond to any surface. Much easier for future repairs, longer guarantee by qualified installer. All round easier, quicker to install and a better looking finish. Hands down recommend over felt.
