How long to wait after plastering
Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.54 PM
I am having a bedroom fully re-plastered today (bonding + skim) before I raise the floor level a few inches by putting in new batons across the current flooring and adding new chipboard panels. I was wondering if the moisture from the new plaster might have any affect on the new flooring. Does anyone know if this could be a problem and if you should wait a while before fitting the flooring? Or is it OK to start as soon as the plastering is finished?

Once you have had some plastering completed you will notice until it becomes fully dry you will have some moisture in the room from the water used within the plaster so it would probably be best to allow the walls to be completely dry (light pink/white) before laying the floor that way you know there should be no knock on affects.

Definitely wait at least a couple of weeks before flooring
