Divider on roof

I have a Divider in my roof with on tiles in it I just wanted to no is it meant to be there the other houses do not have this

By divider if you mean somthing that runs from the bottom of your roof(eave) to the top of your roof(ridge), this is used for different reasons.
1. Tiles/Slates on the neighbouring roof are differant.
2. Tiles/Slates on the neighbouring roof have slipped and you have had a new roof and it has been set to the correct gauge.
3. Tiles/Slates on the neighbouring roof have been set out wrong where there is not enough overlap.
This is called a bonding gutter and is the best option should any of the points above be the case. It ensures a fully water tight finish and if that is the case it sounds like your roofer has done a good job.
