Painting new plaster

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.53 PM

Hi, I currently have a tub of of wickes matt brilliant white emulsion: https://www.wickes.co.uk/Wickes-Trade-Contract-Matt-Emulsion-Pure-Brilliant-White-10L/p/121732 I've just had my kitchen ceiling removed and a new one built and has just been plastered and is almost dry. This paint I have said it's good for new plaster. Am I ok to paint it straight on when the plaster is dry or will I have to water it down first? Thanks

Always suggest that give a mist coat 50:50 mix with water first then standard two coats

I would water it down on the first coat as you want a nice thick top coat over fresh plaster, make sure the wall is totally dry before application.
