if i level floor with surface compound can i put stepping stones onto it at the same time?

Hi i will be levelling old front garden floor with surface level compound from b and q. My question is that it takes 1 hour for it to dry so can i at the same time as soon as i put on the compound and level put the stepping stones on? It would save time as previously i put the stepping stones onto the floor after it had dried and put concrete on the base and stuck it on which was good Thanks a lot appreciate your help I could put some extra concrete onto base of stepping stone to ensure it stucks Thanks

Hi yes you can put the stones on at the same time

To get a good seal on the slab add some extra strong pva glue to the underneath

You can in theory but I'd advise waiting the allotted time. For the sake of an hour its not worth the risk of having to level the floor again

I would apply the surface level compound and leave it overnight before setting the stepping stones with about a 1/4" fine mortar. Only make up small amounts of mortar at a time so that it doesn't dry out too much and make sure each stone is level before moving on to the next one. Again, leave the mortar to dry overnight before adding any filling around the stepping stones

I would level the floor then add stone the following day with mortar Take your time , get them nice and level , Then repeat process
