How to find a leak on a tiled roof
Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.36 PM
I have a leak that has developed for the first time in 9 years when it was addressed by myself. It came then only when the wind from the N W drove the rain into the tiles. The power if the wind was also a factor I believe. This current leak seems to have come in just the same way. How would a professional find the leak?
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

I think Best way to find leak on a roof is by removing tiles remove battens remove old felt from the area where it’s been leaking replace old felt with new breathable membrane felt new battens put tiles back on roof

Unfortunately this is something we can’t explain as it trade secrets, and if its also something very hard to explain through writing without examples to show etc.
But basically in short without giving away to manny trade secrets, common sense, experience and understanding your environment, and the roof and how the water is flowing down the roof is the answer.
