What type of internal door can I add a cat flap to?
Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.35 PM
Looking at adding a new wood panel door through to the utility and looking at adding a cat flap to the door so that I can add the litter tray through there. Is there anything in particular I should look for for the door? Solid wood, engineered core, etc. In order for a normal cat flap to be added.

A cat flap would be ok to fix to any door. As long as the screws go through a suitable surface which every door has.

Hi there,
I would advise you use a 44mm thick fire door as this has a solid core.

Not every door is suitable especially 6 pannel doors, you either need a 2 pannel door or plain door, this way asteicaly it will look better, also when you cut the hole out fixe 2x1 inside the edge of the void for your screws to catch on
