Aluminium foil around the unvented water tank
Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.35 PM
Hello there, We have electric unvented water tank. It seemed that it was loosing water temperature in the evening. The storage room, where the tank is located, was also warm. I wrapped the tank with aluminium foil. The water is hotter in the evening now. I do not know if it is because of the foil or because the temperature outside is not so cold these days. I am little bit worried, it might be a fire hazard or it could damage the tank. Any advice? Thank you everyone for the answer

To be honest you will need to get a plumber to have a look to check a few things on your cylinder ...

Hi,
If your unvented cylinder is fitted correctly according to manufacturer instructions you shouldn’t need to insulate the cylinder.
Better insulation it will save you energy consumption but to find out what type of insulation and how to insulate you need to call a local qualified plumber with G3 ticket.
