Cutting Solid Core Door,
Anonymous user 16/03/2024 - 2.36 PM
When Trimming Solid Core Doors, is it a problem to cut more than the lipping to expose the core, if this only happens along the bottom edge. eg. Core will be exposed along bottom edge, Lipping is still intact along other 3 edges. - is this a problem?

It is not a problem, unless it is a fire rated door. The door won’t be as affective if there is a fire. 👍🏻

Personally I would pay the extra and purchase a solid door.

Remove enough material so that bottom lipping can be cleaned up after removal and then be glued and screwed back on. Thereby maintaining the integrity of the door. Done this many times.
