Radiators get too hot?

Anonymous user 16/03/2024 - 2.36 PM

Hi hope everyone is keeping well. Need some advice regarding the radiators in my mum's house she thinks they get too hot and is worried about this. The boiler is set to 70c would it be ok to turn it down to 65c for example without compromising performance of the boiler and would this solve the issue. Appreciate any advice. Keep well. Regards JR

Yes you can turn it down no problem. You can also control the temperature in a room by having a thermostatic radiator valve fitted which will open and close automatically depending on the setting chosen on the valve

You can turn the temperature down at the boiler to 65 degrees which will still give enough heat. I would suggest when your mum next has a boiler service to mention this to the engineer as they will generally check the radiators are all working and they are working safely.
