Anonymous user 16/03/2024 - 2.35 PM

Can you put a skylight on 15° pitch an can you put any tile on the roof with at least 100 mil head lap an if not can you please tell me why? Cos if you look at every tile at the back there all the same?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Velux roof windows must be minimum 15 degree pitch for standard flashings. There is a system to 10 degree pitch with velux flashings. There are specific concrete tiles that can be installed at 12.5 degree pitch with 100mm headlap from suppliers depending on rafter length and prevailing wind conditions. I would suggest turning this 15 degree pitch into a flat roof system (felt/fibreglass/rubber) may prove less problematic in future.

The first part is good. Velux windows work well at 15deg. There are a range of tiles to suit. You have to take care with the front and back flashings to get the tile runs correct. Correct flashing is vital.o
