How to repair broken fence on top of retaining wall?

Anonymous user 16/03/2024 - 2.35 PM

We have a garden fence on top of a retaining wall which has collapsed in recent storms, what would your best advice be to install a fence on top of a retaining wall, length is around 36feet long and height of fence is 6foot and the retaining wall about 4foot however is on a slope. Thanks

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

If the wall is in good condition and sound brackets can be bolted to it to hold fence in place. Posts could also be fixed directly to the face of the wall if the conditions allow for it.

OK so I would never put a six foot fence on top on any wall personally. Not only because a six foot fence on top of a four foot wall wouldn't be allowed but would put a hell of a strain on the wall especially during high winds definitely a know know. Simon

The first answer is ok just. But is it was me I would remove fence and wall and replace with concrete post, concrete gravel board and feather edge fence.

As above although a 6 foot fence can quite easily pull a wall down in high winds.
