Uneven Yorkshire stone where washing machine is
Anonymous user 16/03/2024 - 2.35 PM
We have Yorkshire stone floor in the kitchen which is not level in some parts. We’ve tried adjusting the feet on the washing machine but there is still a significant wobble. It’s too low at the back on the left hand side. We love the Yorkshire stone but wondered what would need to be done to get it level?! It’s under the worktop and would always have a washing machine there so not bothered how it looks; just want a level washing machine and ideally not damaging the Yorkshire Stone! I have photos of the uneven bit of the floor if that helps?

Pack it under the feet with some old rubber matting or vinyl tiles.
Plastic packers would work but wouldn’t be as durable.

Agree rubber is probably the answer. Best way would be to stick rubber washers to the foot of the washing machine rather than building up the floor. That way you can still slide the machine in and out. The rubber won’t damage the floor and will deal with vibrations

A simple solution .. take out washing machine .. put a timber strip along edge of plinth to kitchen units, and sides .. and pour self levelling compound in gap .. so under machine is level ..
Once dried you won’t see it under washing machine, and you keep your floor in tact . hope that helps

I would suggest purchasing some anti vibration feet, fix these to the existing feet where necessary, you will then have more adjustment and will be able to move the machine in and out if needs be.
