Cannot remove Mosaic Walk Tiles

Anonymous user 16/03/2024 - 2.35 PM

My daughter's bathroom tiler cannot remove the mosaic wall tiles after working on them with a jackhammer all day. He says they've been individually fixed and has asked if they can be tiled over. She's really not happy about this but said he's tried very hard. Is there any way of removing them and should she try and find someone else. Can't seem to reply to your answer?! She's requested further quotes as I don't think it's acceptable to tile over just because it's easier. She's the customer so I think needs to find a tiler who can remove them. She's now found out other residents in the building have had them removed. (They were all tiled the same when the building was converted.)

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Day can be removed!,probably taking to much time and efort so is easier just to tile over them. My regards

I would say this tiler is looking for the easy route but in truth, it is not that difficult to remove the current mosaic tiles. I suggest getting another tiler who will be willing to carry out your daughter's project request. It's the least she deserves. I hope you get this sorted. Best wishes.

Removing the music , whilst may be difficult should be possible.... Tiling over is ok .. providing the mosaic and substrate are sound (Doubt very much that they are individually fixed ... just the way they come off)... GW.

Hi you can knock down a house with a jackhammer, so I don't think he's capable of doing the job. I would reconsider the guy all together. Best regards
