Moulding for a steel porch support

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 2.54 PM

Our house is 1970s built ex-council. The front door is set back, creating a porch some 2 metres wide and 600mm deep. The roof of the porch consists of a cast concrete slab. This is supported by a steel pole along the lines of a scaffold pole which has been painted white. Is there a moulding I can get for this to make it look more attractive? I don't mind whether it ends up round or square in section. I am replacing the front door and glazed side panel and following this will tile the step slab with travertine tiles. I would appreciate some suggestions for the pole.

Why not just box it in.you can make it as fancy as you like.if its out side you could have it cloaked off with a brick colum.

Why not create a simple box from 100mm X 25mm pse ( or 125 if 100 is not big enough) this will then appear to look like a wooden post?!. Regards J Chappell Joinery
