Max height you can access on an exterior wall with a ladder?

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.15 PM

We have a waste water pipe that has become disconnected higher than the fourth storey window. It's a simple job to fix so would like to avoid getting scaffolding if possible, is it possible to go that high with a ladder?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Can it be completed in under 10 minutes without reaching from the ladder? If not, scaffolding. If yes, ladder if you can get someone willing to do it and a long enough ladder. Portable scaffolding or a MEWP sounds about right depending on the access.

As already suggested if work can safely be done from a ladder, taking in to account ground conditions etc, without over stretching and prolonged period of time on ladder. If not scaffolding or MEWP, once again taking into account ground conditions and operator training and competence.

Hi we would be happy to help re the waste pipe, we would not feel safe using ladders for that height. However we would use a cherry picker, therefore we would be safe and we would be able to access the pipe to allow us to connect the pipe Back together
