Water seems "harder" after plumbing work
Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.15 PM
I've just had my bathroom redone and have begun to notice that the tap water now seems to leave much heavier water marks on drying than it ever used to. For example, I basically can't get drinking glasses clean now as they always dry with sediment everywhere you can literally wipe off with your finger. Is it possible my plumbers left some contaminant in the water pipe that is affecting the quality of my water?

Hi Tom. You say it seems more now than before leaving a film on glass etc. So it was there before but less. Do you have a water softener if so make sure your cold kitchen tap is not connected to it.
May I also suggest you ask your local water board for advise and they may send someone to take a water sample for analysis... just incase you are being harmed by their water or not as the case may be. Good luck, Bob.

Hi Tom, I would definitely suggest getting in touch with the water board and having the water tested.
