Electric oven isn't turning on

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.15 PM

I have a Indesit FIM31KAIX. When i switch the the knobs, nothing happens. not inside light, no power light and the fan doesnt move. The gas hob on top though works fine and the electric ignition works too. Any idea what this could be? I was thinknig fuse, but then again the hob is working.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

The hob circuit is a separate one. It should be powered from a spur and generally there happens problems with those spurs. The fuse may be blown, if it is a switch spur the switch may be turned off. It will be a quick job to test and understand the problem.

Looks like the hob is separate to the oven from what I can find of that model. Probably the insulation in the element has deteriorated causing a short circuit and blowing the fuse. You would be wise to have it repaired and tested professionally.
