Replacing odd size kitchen sink, can't find a workable solution....

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.14 PM

Moved into a new build last year, has an existing kitchen sink measuring 1030 x 510. I've checked under the unit and it seems the cut out size is 490 x 1010. The existing sink is stainless steel which I ABSOLUTELY HATE due to scratches etc. I want to replace it with a granite composite sink but I cannot for the life of me find a sink big enough that won't just fall through the hole. Is there a bigger style granite sink? OR is there a way to create /buy some kind of 'lip' or edge that can go around a standard composite sink in order to support it so that it won't fall through the cut out? Replacing the worktops is not an option I'm afraid. Thanks for any help!!

Hi Louise, That’s a very tricky one yes, as you will have most likely found out most sinks are 1000mm long at their biggest but depending on the size of the base unit you have there are a few composite granite ones on the market that are around 1160mm long overall from ‘Reginox’ these are however double bowl sinks so will need a base unit of at least 800mm wide or larger. If you search for ‘Reginox Smart Sink Range‘ you should come across some 2 bowl ones. I hope this can help and hopefully you have the right sized base unit too which will help of course. Sadly I think that you can't get a granite sink this size, if you really don't want a stainless, then try looking at ceramic .
