I have had 6x replacement GU10 LED bulbs sent to me can they normally be swapped straight for the GU10 75w Halogen bulbs i have had in before, the led ones use 5w. when i put them in before after 40 mins some flickered and the light faded right down to nothing one had smoke coming from it, so i swithed them off and put the halogens back in with no probs. There is a problem there was it the bulbs i was sent were faulty or what?

Yes, its cheap chinese bulbs. You need to be spending big money on decent LED GU10 bulbs, good ones will set you back £20 to £30 each. http://www.screwfix.com/p/sylvania-hi-spot-lamp-es50-led-gu10-175lm-3-5w/97158 The old addage you pays your money and you takes your pick and you only get what you pay for!
