Seal stripped cornice if not painting?

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.14 PM

Hello, I’ve stripped all the paint off some decorative cornice (1850) and now planning to leave it unpainted. I can’t find much info about whether it’s better to seal or leave it as is. I’ve seen Sika Evabuild stabiliser recommended but I’ve also read that this is PVA-based and that PVA can seep in and damage the substrate or make future decorating a nightmare. Seal or leave totally bare? Thanks
