ducting for domestic extractor fan
Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.14 PM
hi, i got a new kitchen fitted a few years ago but the cooker extractor fan is charcoal as i didn't want it ducted out into the neighbours back garden. i now want to get some ducting in that will take it out to another wall in the kitchen (on my side of the fence). who carries out that type of work? the original kitchen fitter isn't interested.
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

I fit kitchens on new build sites every day of the week and every one of the extractor and ventilation hoses are core drilled by the electricians while connecting the extractors. However plumbers will also take on these jobs as they core drill for boiler flue’s.

Post the job on MyBuilder aiming for a kitchen fitter. Hopefully a different local kitchen fitter will call in and sort this for you.
A heating engineer can also do it to but they are in their busiest time (people discover heating problems when the weather turns colder)

Contact a kitchen fitter , the hole size for ducting is specified in the manual provided , too small a hole and the fan will whistle . You have made the right decision to duct the extractor out rather than have it recirculating .
