We'd like to build a porch entrance to my first floor flat. Is this possible?

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.32 PM

We live in Newcastle upon Tyne and in a first floor flat but own the garden space at the front, the side and the back. We want to build a porch entrance to create entry space. There is more than 2 meters space between our front door and the boundary. Can this be allowed and do we need planning permission?

You do not need planning permission for a porch. You can build it under permitted development by getting in contact with your local council and tell them about your plans, sometimes they charge a small fee for this ( about £80. ) Google planning portal this will help you. Many thanks Dean
