Builder asking for more money but hasn’t done the job right

Recently we have hired builders who have already gone over the quote but we agreed to pay but we’ve had problems with the extension outside as they have extended more than we asked for breaking regulations they have no asked for more money otherwise they will stop work there is also work being done upstairs that we are happy with but the extension is completely wrong in multiple ways and we would like it to be fixed but they have refused and still want more money what should i do?
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

It is very difficult to say without seeing contracts and understanding the work being done.
Quotes are always dependant on no issues or further works that would be impossible to foresee occurring.

No Builder should pick up a job without drawings.
Drawings should contain a minimum of dimensions and any changes should be clearly agreed.
You could take them to a small claims court. You might want to let them finish before you do, or alternatively stop the works right now.
