Electric shower replacement
Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.53 PM
I want to replace an old (20+yrs) Gainsborough electric shower with a Triton 10.5Kw electric shower. I don't know the wattage of the Gainsborough unit and can't find it anywhere. Does this matter?

Hi there,
You need to make sure the cable is suitable for the new shower and connected to an RSD fuse for protection, for this shower is needed at least 10mm cable.
Advisable to get an qualified electrician to check out the wiring and for installation.
Hope this helps.
Best,
Michael

You will need to check the cable and fuse is sufficient enough for your new shower. A shower of 10.5kw would require a 10mm cable and 40amp mcb protected by a 30mA rcd. If your not sure how to check this then get a qualified electrician before you fit the new shower.
