Door hook latch not going all the way in
Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.53 PM
On my multi lock composite front door, the hook latch at the top and bottom don’t go all the way in unless I apply a bit of force to force the door handle all the way down. It’s liveable, but has only started to happen recently so doesn’t feel quite right. Any advice on how to diy fix? I tried wd40 incase it was just getting a bit sticky but it’s still the same.

Could be door has dropped. Which in turn may blow gearbox. Get a Lockie out to sort whilst a simple fix. If it's a winkhaus then it's already gone. Need to replace

Seems like the door has dropped, if you got flag hinges you can lift the door using a Allen key, remove plastic cover under the hinge to access the adjuster,

There is a gear box behind the key barrel,it’s made from cast iron they tend to brake up inside it’s this gear box that works the hooks top and bottom I think it needs looking at,the full mechanism has to be taken out to sort out the problem
