Sky Q Box - Distribute picture from main box to more than 2 tvs

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.53 PM

Hello, I am not sure if this is relevant under this category of tradesman but if anyone can help that would be great. I currently have a Sky+HD box and can upgrade to the new Sky Q box. In my current setup, I have the magic eyes to operate seperate tvs around the house. I know the Sky Q box does not allow for the use of Magic Eye. However, I was wondering if there is a way round this and make the Sky Q box work the exact same was as the Magic eyes do. If changing channels can only be done via the main box, I am fine with that so long as a picture can be received in various tvs (3 other tvs) around the house. I know there is a Mini-box that Sky is offering to make this work, but will require a subscription which I am not keen on. Thank in advance for your help.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi Mikey, As far as I'm aware, you can only use one Sky Q box per TV, you have to have a Sky Q Mini-box for each of the other TV's. The Magic-Eye is not needed due to the new Sky Q remotes working via Bluetooth I believe. We have fitted the Sky Q boxes in under stairs cupboards behind walls at the back of TV's and had no issue with the Sky box recieving the instruction from the remote.

Generally, the only solution is to add mini Sky Q boxes in each additional room.
