Liniar Profiles - Positioned as a 'premium' product?

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.53 PM

Hi all, I'm currently mulling over a double glazing quote provided by a firm in Glasgow. Their sales pitch was that in the marketplace there's 3 categories: 1: Cheap budget windows at the bottom end 2: OK ones fitted by local guys in the middle 3. The "premium" products provided by Anglian and Everest at the top end. The guy is claiming their supplied systems are somewhere between middle and top and so will have a bit of a price premium - not as much as Anglian or Everest though, but be up there with the likes of them in terms of quality. But through a bit of research I know that they use Linian A rated profiles, and Vista Therm glass (by Carey Glass from Ireland). From what I can tell, these seem to be pretty much middle-of-the-road products with very little between them and other suppliers. Has anyone in the DG business got any thoughts on whether these actually are positioned as higher-end products in the marketplace (personal views and experience of the ACTUAL quality or fit aside) compared to the likes of Rehau or Veka paired with any other industry standard glass? Any info much appreciated.

Everest and Anglian might charge a premium price, But they don't use the best window system that's for sure. Liniar is a budget system too imo. Get 3 quotes from 3 reputable companies & go with who you feel most comfortable with.

I would say Anglian have one of the best systems. However their prices are far too high and not worth the extra quality id say. You're paying for a management chain. I would say next best window system is Rehau followed by Liniar. Liniar is somewhere in the middle in terms of quality.

Everest and Anglian have a terrific sales pitch and that it about it. Anyone in the trade avoids these company's as much as possible. In terms of profiles quality, Liniar is middle of the road, created by the same guy who created Eurocell, Roger Hartshorn. As previously mentioned get 3 quotes from 3 different independent local companies. I wouldnt use nationwide companies. Rehau is a good quality profile. Your main focus should be on the quality of the workmanship in fabrication and installation of which local reputable companies would be the best choice.
