Air conditioning lines through roof tiles
Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.52 PM
Hi All, I am looking to get a multi split ac installed in my property and one of my concerns is having the ac company run their ac lines through the roof out of the pitched roof tiles (clay). I don't have any experience with roofing and would like to know if they drilled through the tiles would they be able to seal it adequately enough to prevent any rain water leaks or would some sort of roof tile cowl suffice? I imagine the hole they would need would be about 8cm. The only option is to go through the roof. Thanks

Very simple. Use a lead Saddle to dress around the pipe/s & it’ll be fine. (As long as the lead is up u der the course of tiles above)

Lead saddle a good option but I’d prefer easy lead as it sticks to surfaces and would be easier to manipulate around pipes

Hi.
I would contact a Leadworker who can weld lead (as all should).
He can either premake a bespoke saddle or indeed fit it for you.

Seal it with the proper material suitable to your tiles, a professional service provider who know what their doing should provide you with the solution for that.
we did it many times in our installations so far so good.
