I have gone through my corrugated concrete sheet and I need to fix

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.35 PM

Hi, I have accidentally made a hole in my barn wall. The barn is very old and the material looks like it’s a concrete asbestos corrugated sheet material. I am really lost on ideas on how to fix it so if anyone has any ideas I’d be greatful. I think the sheet can be replaced but not 100% sure. Thanks for your response. If I was to patch as I have found some off cut of material. What would be the best way to fix it to existing?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi you can replace the section of sheet as this can still be purchased that would be the best scenario Long term or if it’s not in a place that can be seen it can also be repaired or patched it.

Hi, If it is asbestos board then I would highly recommend not to tamper with the broken board and get an accredited company in to remove the damaged materials. With regards to replacing the panel, there are lots of alternatives to asbestos boards which are safe to use like cement fibre boards. These can be safely handled and more importantly, drilled and cut safely. I hope this helps R and b renovations

As you think it’s as asbestos I would seek professional advice , as this cannot be purchased although similar material can be used, and if it’s not on show I would patch over it with a similar board and maybe glue it on top of existing
