How far in advance should we book a bathroom fitting?

We're currently in the process of buying a house, and would like to get the bathroom refitted before we move in. We don't have a firm completion date yet but it should be around the end of October so we'd be looking to get the work done sometime in November. Should we already be looking to book a fitter in and look to book it towards the middle/end of the month so that we have some leeway with the completion date, or would we be fine to wait a while until we have a firm date so that we can get the work done soon after completing? Not sure how far in advance fitters get booked up plus I imagine there's other time factors involved such as sourcing materials etc so any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi, Id recommend sourcing a fitter sooner rather than later, depending on the size of the bathroom it typically takes between 1 and 2 weeks to turn a bathroom around start to finish. If you have an option to book them in sooner id defiantly recommend this as leaving things to the end will almost always create problems i.e cant source materials, any problems within the bathroom that may arise leaks ect and snagging, ideally you want all that complete and checked way before moving in.

you will need the venders permission to do any work before completion,also make sure who ever you hire is a competent plumber.

I would get quotes from a variety of different plumbers, and really search the market for plumbers with good portfolios and who are highly recommended. It’s difficult to find competent plumbers at a fair price but we are out there. The more notice you give before the job the easier it will be to organise everything and really discuss the options available in terms of bathroom design and layout suitability to guarantee to make you happy 😊
