Do I need to sand white painted walls before painting them again in another colour colour?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

It is always good to sand each coat a little bit - best to use 120 grid or higher to provide a stronger key for the new coat and avoid flaking after a while. Hope this helps.

You only sand if it’s needed you should only have to sand once if the the other coats are applied properly

Before you Start painting you should always prepare the walls with sanding and filling them if needed but after you apply the paint too the walls you should always give it a light sand between coats too make sure the walls are smooth, The preferable grade of sand paper between coats would be 120 or higher as the lower grade may be too course for the surface
