How can I tell if an internal door lintel is load bearing please?

Anonymous user 16/03/2024 - 2.34 PM

Hi, Looking to remove a lintel and upper brickwork above door frame in order to create an arch using the wickes arch kit.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi You would have to find out if wall is load bearing. To do this you would have look what way joists and flooring are running If the joists are resting on the wall and flooring is running the the same way as the wall , you would have to get engineering drawings made up . Because it will be load bearing Because it could be a problem if you ever sale the property Regards A Milne joinery
