Can I vinyl over stick on vinyl

I have stick down vinyl tiles down & im getting new vinyl installed.Is ok to stick vinyl straight over the old tiles?
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

If the vinyl tiles are stuck solid then there is no need to lift them provided it is just cushion floor vinyl you are laying over the top as all cushion floor should be layed loose where possible. If it is commercial vinyl you are puting down then that needs to be fully adhered to the subfloor. If your subfloor is wooden then you can lay 6mm plywood over the tiles to form a new subfloor but if your subfloor is cement based then you will need to remove the stick down tiles.

Not unless the new vinyl is felt back , if its acrylic you should strip up and start again

The vinly under neath would have to be hard to take up and polish free to give the new adhesive to grab

I would never lay vinyl over existing vinyls to do a good job remove and make sure floor is perfect
