Extractor fan overrun not working

Hi Nasim_68 Typically speaking an extractor fan for a bathroom should last 10 years. However in my experience this is very rarely the case. First step would be to clean the unit, this may or may not solve your problem, it is far more likely the unit has become faulty, in which case you will need to replace the unit. The easiest way to do this is to switch it out like for like. Whilst it is important to be economic, I recommend avoiding eco units if you have no windows in the bathroom, or your bathroom is prone to mould growth as these are for less effective at removing moisture than a non eco alternative. There's a small round dial inside the fan with a notch across it that you can fit a small screwdriver in to adjust the fan timer. Just turn off the power to the fan via the outside switch. Take off the cover and adjust the dial inside. You may need to trial and error the overun time but this ought to work. Not sure why it has gone from 15mins to 3mins. Cleaning the fan is always sensible though.
