Padstone or Lintel?
Anonymous user 16/03/2024 - 2.33 PM
I'm searching for the 'padstone' size my SE put in the drawing to bear a new RSJ onto.. 250 x 100 x 65. Can't find anything of that size. I know there's concrete lintels that size (the supreme prestressed type from TravisP) Are concrete lintels and Padstones basically the same thing? Can I bear the weight of the RSJ onto a Lintel?
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Yes, simply cut the concrete lintel down to required length and use as Padstone

You would be better off putting a pre made pad stone in which usually come as .440 long, .100 thick and .215 height. These are the most common padstones every where will have them, there the same size as a concrete block, then you'll have no worries
