What type of filler(s) for cracks and small missing sections
Anonymous user 16/03/2024 - 2.33 PM
Hi, I need to paint a coupe of the bedrooms in my house, but before I do, I know that I need to do some preparation - fill in some cracks in the plastered walls and also put some filler in areas that are more than cracks (a couple of inches wide by a couple of inches high). I know there are several types of fillers on the market, for different applications, but I am a DIYer with very little experience / knowledge, and I'm wondering if I can use the same filler for the cracks and bigger holes/gaps? I think cracks are the easiest of the two to remedy, but I have heard somewhere that larger areas (even if it's only a couple square inches) need more care, so the filler adheres and stays in place. Once I've patched / filled these cracks and holes, I can get painting. Also, I have some plastic window cills that I am going to spray paint over (which is especially for plastic), but there is some very old, stubborn paint on them - what is the best product for removing an old coat of paint from a plastic window cill? Any advice / suggestions welcome. Thanks in advance!
