Poor workmanship tiger stripes, boards uneven, cracks really horrible jo

Had new loft conversion plaster boarded by joiner and apprentice then another pair of subIes came to plaster. So areas of tiger stripes, uneven surface due to plasterboards uneven, small boards used so loads of joins, cracking where old plastered wall meets new plastering, run hands over it and it undulates.
Really dissatisfied as it should be like a new build. I had good landing ceiling until they reboarded it and made it look a mess.
Had painter round who said it’ll need work sanding and filling and there will be shadowing because of the boards undulating.
Company says he will get them back to sand it - not been back in last 3 week . Needs more than sanding. Never had plasterers like this before always been able to paint on great walls and ceilings. Told me to get my plasterer to do it if he’s that exceptional.
Any advice gratefully received.
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?
Sounds like every one you had in was in a big hurry to get it done, tiger strips to much water and playing about the skim to much and bit of a rookie problem, with some boards being out of level from other boards your plaster should of noticed this and rectified it during the prep work before the plastering ie bond out any uneven boards Screw up and flapping boards and so forth but at the same time the people who boarded it shouldn't of left it in that manner, only way to see how bad it is is to give it a white wash to see how bad it looks a good decorator could sort a lot of the problems with filler and a good rub over before and between coats,
Hope this helps and you can get this sorted
does sound like bad workmanship ask the plasterers or the firm that used them to come and have a look 4 themselves if you are not happy with the finsh then they should come back and at least try to put things right or at least offer a discount to allow you to get someone else in to put work right only other way is to fill and sand but really that shouldn't be necessary
Sounds like the plasterers done a really poor job. You could use dry lining compound which comes pre-mixed, and go over all the bad bits of plastering, then give it light sand, should turn out good to paint, might be the best and cheapest option.
This is due to not only bad prep work sounds like really bad plastering work also, we also put timbers in so the ceiling ect are always plum and level, I would ask for a refund and get someone tidy back to do it myself, another thing the plasterer off his own back should have refused to do the job until the boarding/prep was 100 percent and ready to plaster over, sorry but this is a growing matter as customers call us in after a bad job and sometimes it's heartbreaking to see a family who's devastated by poor quality work.
