Rock wall lining paper

Anonymous user 16/03/2024 - 2.33 PM

A few years ago we lined a room with rock wallpaper liner, but now the paper applied over it is peeling off throughout the room. There is no damp, can anyone advise why this might be happening? Also, do we need to strip all the wall rock off and completely re-paper the room? Thanks

Possibly insufficient or incorrect adhesive used in the first place , hard to be sure without photos I’d probably strip all paper off including lining and either line walls again or get them skimmed ,

As the previous answer, I would say incorrect paste was used, either to thin or not heavy enough, if your able to remove the wallpaper From the wallrock, and the wallrock is sound I can’t see any problems re-papering with a ready mixed all purpose paste.

Maybe the paste you used was not a readymade paste it always best to use a ready made paste for lining papper, also was the room sized before you put your lining papper up.as the paste you used might not mixed wright. Also the wall a might of taken all mositure out of your paste when hung the papper ...
